first, meteorologist adam caskey. >> its chronicled and blustery. the wind was picking up yesterday afternoon. it will continue to be strong today. let's go to temperatures. 28 at reagan national, 25 at martinsburg, 27 in lexington park. it feels like we are in the teens when you factor in the wind. hagerstown has a wind chill of 10. it feels like 11 at dulles airport. a lot of sunshine today. a few scattered clouds, still breezy. gusts up to 30 miles an hour. high temperatures near the freezing mark later this afternoon. 10 degrees below average again today. another cold day tomorrow. we have a chance of a light dusting of snow early tomorrow morning. may reduced visibility. now to lisa baden.

center meeting with the families of six individuals killed saturday and the survivors. among them, a congresswoman gabrielle giffords, opened her eyes for the first time. >> she knows we are here, she knows the love her, and that we are rooting for her in brooklyn to be a difficult journey. >> thousands lined up for a seat at the university of arizona campus for the opportunity to do with the president in prayer and in morning. >> our hearts are broken by a passing. >> he urged americans to unite in the face of tragedy. >> what we cannot do is use this tragedy as one more occasion and to turn on each other. >> the investigation into saturday's alleged shooter, a 22-year-olds jared loughner, is increasing. federal lawmakers spent the day seizing computers and, as weary

smelled smoke and alerted her. she initially thought it was her house that was on fire, but quickly realized it was her neighbors. she sprang into action and went and bank on the door and got them awake. firefighters had trouble getting the blaze under control because of the wind. once they did, everything was ok. one firefighter was injured in all this, with guns to the neck and was taken to local hospital. -- with burns to the neck. the house is a complete loss. firefighters or boarding up the house. officials still investigating the cause. everyone in this situation is very lucky and it is all thanks to a neighbor's dog. that neighbor had a little damage to the house, but she is saved this morning. >> thank you.

turning to the cold weather, gusts are making it feel even colder. the last night we saw people walking around downtown washington, most of them not so happy to be outside. there is relief in sight and it's expected to be less windy today. adam caskey has more on that coming up. parts of the northeast are digging out big time again. at least the ability of snow fell in less than 24 hours in connecticut. tens of thousands of hoses without support in massachusetts. from philadelphia to boston, schools and other facilities are closed and airlines are delayed or canceling flights. >> americans are facing a bubble about to burst. >> let's turn to linda delaware and in new york. good morning. >> good want. we know the cost of higher

legislative agenda during last night's state of the commonwealth address. his plan includes billions of dollars for road repair and millions for college financial aid. democrats say that his plan will put the state deeper in debt. the maryland general assembly is back in session. lawmakers are tackling a $1.6 billion budget shortfall. the senate president, mike miller, says cuts will have to be made to medicaid, education, and environment. if he supports a moderate increase in beer and wine taxes, but that the proposal to raise money by increasing taxes on alcohol goes too far. there are still some gas stations in our area selling gas at less than $3 a gallon. one of them is on frederick road in germantown. $2.99 a gallon. in maryland, the average price for regular is $3.90. in virginia, $3.
